100 Club – helping make your dreams come true…

Are you looking forward to a warm relaxing holiday? Well, here’s your chance. The 100 club can help you towards that special once in a lifetime holiday. Yes, it really can! All you have to do is book your holiday – and should your number come up before you go then your winnings can go towards the cost of your dream holiday!

We are looking to make much needed improvements to the school room. You can help by joining the 100 club. There are still some numbers left in the 100 club for the next year.

The next draw for the 100 club will be on the 7th April

Easter Triduum

This year celebrations will be different, unfortunately the Priest who was going to assist has had to cancel. Fr. Eddy has kindly offered to cover Gainsborough for Good Friday but otherwise no help is forthcoming. Therefore, the programme this Easter is as follows. 

I am sorry if this causes any inconvenience or upset, but this is the best I can do under the circumstances being Parish Priest of two large Parishes.

Easter Raffle

The raffle tickets will be available from the 9/10th March in all churches, with the draw taking place on the 24th March.

Easter falls in March this year , can we please ask for donations of Easter eggs.

Easter Bingo

Easter Bingo Caistor: We are intending to hold an Easter Bingo on Sunday 24th March at 7pm at Caistor. All monies raised will be for church. funds. This has previously been an enjoyable social event. Any offers of help and donations of prizes would be appreciated. There will be home-made cakes and refreshments available.

Changes…

Offertory: All things being equal we shall re-introduce the offertory procession on Easter Sunday. Nearer the time lists will be put out for you to place your names on if you wish to take part.

Foodbank

Audrey Murphy 

Of your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Audrey Murphy and the family at his time. Audrey’s Requiem will take place at Holy Rood Monday October 9^th at 11am.  May she rest in peace & rise in glory.

Broadbent Theatre

We have parishioners involved in Rinkly Rockers this November. Several parishioners have already expressed an interest in attending as a group to make it a social event too. More details to follow.

Festival Hainton

Sunday Oct 8^th at 3pm followed by refreshments in the Hall afterwards. We will also celebrate Harvest at the 11.30am Mass at Rasen this day, please bring harvest items for this Mass, which will be donated to the food bank. Thank you.

A kwiz sheet  will be available from Sunday 17th September.  Please take one with you. The cost is £2 per sheet.  Take it home and have a go! Once you have finished it please bring it back to the church. Please return your completed quiz sheet by Sunday 9th October.  

 Winners will be announced here and in the bulletins on weekend 15th/16th October.

Tinned and dried goods are always needed to help those struggling at this time especially during the winter months. Your support is much appreciated, goods can be placed in the basket at the back of the Church. See Pauline if you have any questions or need more information.

Stow Minster

The Anglos Saxon Church of St. Mary 7^th Century believed to have been the Cathedral of the old Diocese of Lindsey & often referred to as the Mother Church of Lincolnshire. I am delighted to say we have been granted permission to offer Holy Mass there on Wednesday the 27^th September at 1030am. Be kind enough to place your name on the list if you wish to join me as they have graciously offered to give us a small tour and refreshments after Mass. This is an historic occasion after all.

ZUMBA GOLD Class

Zumba Gold classes  started on Monday 4th September at 11am in the schoolroom. There’s a sheet at the back of the church  for you to sign up. Classes are £5 per person.

If you wish to use the toilets in the Schoolroom before or during Holy Mass please see Keith or Pauline who will be in the Narthex. If you prefer to sit during Holy Mass rather than kneel or stand, then please sit. If you feel faint or would like some water Keith or Pauline will bring you  water to drink.

Cannon Ian

As many of you know Canon Ian will be retiring from SS: Peter & Paul: A Service of Retirement In thanksgiving for Ian’s ministry will be held on Sunday 24th September at 6pm at Caistor Parish Church. Followed by a buffet supper. We have been invited to attend & join the celebrations. Canon Ian went out of his way to help us during Covid offering the parish Church so that we could celebrate Holy Mass, please join me at the celebration to wish him well & a happy retirement.

Food Bank

Tinned and dried goods are always needed to help those struggling at this time especially during the winter months. Your support is much appreciated, goods can be placed in the basket at the back of the Church. See Pauline if you have any questions or need more information.
