Date for the Diary – Parish Lunch (a.k.a ‘Walker’s Lunch) After a gap over the summer months we are hoping to reintroduce the parish monthly lunch. This will be on the first Thursday of the month starting 6th November. We meet 12.30pm in the church car park. We can then walk to the nearest venue, (hence the original name), or share lifts if we venture further afield. The idea is simply to meet socially and enjoy a meal together. Newcomers to the Parish and non-Catholic partners and friends are particularly welcome. Further details will be in next week’s bulletin and on the website.
First Aid kits: Two new First Aid kits and Accident Report books are available. One kit and book is in the Narthex; the other kit and book are in the schoolroom. Bottled water is also in the Narthex.
Schoolroom Hire: The amended Booking Forms and Amended T&Cs are now available. A copy of the T&Cs is on the schoolroom noticeboard. Please see Mary Q or Keith for more information.
The Reader, Flower, and Coffee rotas have now moved to the Rotas page on this website.
Parish E-Mailing List: We have set up a new parish E-mail list which allows those who join to be kept up-to date with information in the parish via E-mail. It is a versatile tool and will allow (in time) various groups within the parish to have their own sections. If you would like to join, please just send an E-mail with “Parish List” in the subject line to holyroodchurchmr@outlook.com (You can leave at any time).
Rosary: The Rosary is said before the 10am Mass at Holy Rood on Tuesdays, all are welcome to join in.
Mass Intentions: If you want to have a Mass offered for a particular intention, we will soon have “Mass intention Envelopes” at the back of each Church. However, until they arrive just ask Fr David if you want a Mass said. The Diocese recommends a donation of £10 for a Mass intention.
Christmas Coffee Morning. December 6th 10-12 Holy Rood Schoolroom. To make our special event more enjoyable for everyone, we need volunteers who have ideas for stall and games etc. Please see Fr David with your suggestions. We also desperately need items for the tombola: bottles, chocolates etc and prizes etc for the other stalls. Please be generous and drop them off at the presbytery.
Annual Parish Raffle: We are planning to once again have our annual parish raffle. We are looking for sponsors to donate the first three prizes of £100, £50 and £25. Please let Fr David know if you would be willing to donate. Any other prizes for the raffle would be greatly appreciated too (e.g. bottles, Chocolates, a Porsche etc)
Food Bank: Tinned & dried goods are always needed to help those families who are struggling at this time of year. If you would like any further information please have a chat with Pauline.
