Bulletin 21st Dec 2024

Welcome to this week’s bulletin. Let’s start with this week’s Mass times.

Please note there will be bacon butties available after Sunday (22nd) 11.30 Mass in the schoolroom.

£und Rai$ing Thank$

Grand Christmas Raffle:  Thank you all very much for taking part, and thanks to the generous doners of the main cash prizes. The sum raised for the parish amounted to £2480… marvellous! As usual I won precisely nothing!

Cake Sale Caistor: A total of £160 was raised on the night of the raffle draw, a cornucopia of delicious homemade cakes for which we thank those who baked and worked so hard for the event. Their talents much appreciated by all in attendance.

Christmas Coffee Morning. The Coffee morning at Holy Rood raised nearly £200 and was most enjoyable. Thank you to the organisers and those who worked hard to make this occasion a success.

On Tuesday/Wednesday we shall celebrate the Nativity of Our Lord, the year appears to have flown by, or perhaps I am getting even older! We have said goodbye to a few parishioners who we shall of course see again when our turn comes to answer God’s call, and we have gained new friends to join our worshipping community. The year has gone well. Everyone has worked hard to ensure the additional taking on of St. Thomas’s Gainsborough has been a success. Something that could not have happened without your generosity of spirit, of which I thank you. So let us look forward with confidence to the coming new year ahead of us. I wish you and all your loved ones and friends a blessed, holy and peaceful Christmastide. May the good Lord continue to protect and bless us all as we commence another years in our parish life.

Please Note: I will be taking a short break Monday to Saturday Noon, the 30th Dec to Saturday 4th January. But during this time, I will celebrate Holy Mass Wednesday New Years Day at 10am, at Holy Rood, The Solemnity of Mary, The Holy Mother of God.

For your information or assistance…

We have two email addresses that perform different roles. Just to clear any confusion here is a reminder.

holyroodchurchmr@outlook.com is the one to use to communicate with Fr. Robert directly re spiritual, personal, or ongoing matters.

holyroodmr@gmail.com  was set up in 2020 to deal with general enquiries, communication generated via the website, and third parties such as West Lindsey churches festival. These emails are initially looked at by the bulletin team and passed to Fr. Robert if appropriate.

God bless you all,
