I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your very kind and open welcome to me as I join you in this parish. A particular thank you to those who have helped me settle in at the Presbytery, and shown me the ropes. I still have much to learn but already feel I am going to be very happy here.

Holy Rood Church open
For a trial period Holy Rood will be left open most days from 8:30am to 6pm so that people can pop in and pray. Please do avail yourself of the opportunity to be with our Lord. (The Blessed Sacrament will be reserved in the Tabernacle in the side (Lady chapel) during the week, and in the Tabernacle behind the main Altar on Sundays and feast days… look for the lit sanctuary lamp to be sure).

What‘s happening out and about?
Young Adults are warmly invited to join us at: Saint Hugh’s Church, Lincoln on Thursday 8th May.
Starting from 6pm with the talk at 7pm. Sister Catherine, COLW is delivering our talk this month giving some of her own testimony and input on Our Lady. We will pray vespers together, share some pizza and have some social time as well! The Saint Augustine Webster Melwood Jubilee Pilgrimage to the site of Melwood Abbey will be held on Saturday 3rd May at 12.00 noon, at Low Melwood Farm, Owston Ferry DN9 1AD. The Pilgrimage starts with the Rosary and Procession, followed by Mass in one of the farm’s storage barns. Don’t forget to bring a chair, picnic (optional), and appropriate footwear for walking country footpaths.
The NDCYS is organising a Lourdes Reunion on Sunday 27th July at Saint Mary’s Church, Derby DE1 3AU. Young people are invited from 11am, with Mass at 3pm, followed by refreshments for all pilgrims. For more information and to register visit ndcys.com/events-and-opportunities
Jubilee of Communication Workers Conference The Communications Department invites all involved or interested in communications (Social Media, Journalism, Website, Parish Newsletters, plus any other means…) to the upcoming Communications Conference, celebrating the Jubilee of Communication Workers. Held at Cathedral Hall, Nottingham, on Monday 2nd June from 10am – 2pm, the event will include a networking breakfast, a keynote input, workshops, Q&A, concluding with Mass celebrated by Bishop Patrick, with the blessing of communication workers, and lunch. Called to Love: Masculine and Feminine, Friday 9th – Sunday 11th May. A weekend for young adults, whether single, dating or engaged, exploring the nature of masculinity and femininity. The Health Team who support the Nottingham Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage is in need of some additional experienced team members for this year’s pilgrimage. The Jubilee Pilgrimage to Walsingham with Bishop Patrick takes place on Saturday 14th June, gathering at the Anglican Shrine with procession to Catholic Shrine starting at 1.00pm. Mass will be celebrated at 4.00pm followed by departures. More information about events for young people to come soon.
