Confessions after Mass & by appointment

Tea, Coffee, and biscuits available after 11.30 Sunday Mass in the schoolroom. Minimum donation of £1 each please.

Exposition & Benediction: We will be having a half hour of Exposition of the blessed Sacrament after the Thursday morning Mass starting from the 11th Sept for those who wish to pray before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Schoolroom Hire: The amended Booking Forms and Amended T&Cs are now available. A copy of the T&Cs is on the schoolroom noticeboard. Please see Mary Q or Keith for more information.

Parish E-Mailing List: We have set up a new parish E-mail list which allows those who join to be kept up-to date with information in the parish via E-mail. It is a versatile tool and will allow (in time) various groups within the parish to have their own sections. If you would like to join, please just send an E-mail with “Parish List” in the subject line to  holyroodchurchmr@outlook.com (You can leave at any time).

What‘s happening out and about?

Becoming a Catholic? If you are interested in becoming a Catholic (or know someone who is) or want to find out more about the Catholic faith, we are hoping to start a new course in September for adults. Please either speak to Fr David after Mass, or E-mail him at holyroodchurchmr@outlook.com

Young Adult Mass.  InSeptember Young Adults across the diocese are invited to start the new academic year at one of our Masses on:

Thursday 11th at Saint Hugh of Lincoln’s church, Lincoln 

Thursday 18th at Saint Joseph’s church, Derby

Thursday 25th at Holy Cross church, Leicester (Mass at 6:10)

40 Days for Life This year’s campaign of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in Leicester, 40 Days for Life Leicester will be launched on Wednesday 10th September at 7.30pm with an evening event in Saint Edward’s parish hall, 633 Aylestone Road LE2 6TF.  The evening (with refreshmentsprovided) will provide information about 40days for life – what it is, when and where the campaign is, and how it works.  The next prayer vigil will run from 24th September until 2nd November.  For more information visit: www.40daysforlife.com/leicester or email Maureen: leicester40daysforlife@gmail.com

All Altar Servers are invited to the Diocesan Jubilee of Altar Servers, with Mass celebrated by Bishop Patrick in our Cathedral in Nottingham (Derby Road, NG1 5AE) on Saturday 27th September.  Bring your alb / cassock and cotta, and arrive for 10.30am onwards, for Mass at 11.30am.  Bring a packed lunch too, and enjoy a picnic in the Cathedral Hall and gardens.  All are welcome!

Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham will host the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco on Sunday 12th and Monday 13th October, in commemoration of the Centenary of the Five First Saturdays devotion.  The Visitation will include a procession and enthronement of the Fatima statue, followed by Mass; opportunities to venerate the saints’ relics; praying the Rosary for world peace; and talks and videos about the Fatima messages.  A book table with devotional materials will be available, and attendees can enrol in the Brown Scapular devotion.  For further details visit: worldfatima-englandwales.org.uk or email: membership@waf-ew.org.uk

The Mary Potter Heritage Centre is delighted to take part in this year’s Heritage Open Days Festival.  Visit the Centre at 32 Regent Street, Nottingham NG1 5BT, on Saturday 13th September, from 12.00 noon to 5.00pm.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, discover and explore the life and mission of Venerable Mary Potter and The Little Company of Mary Sisters through interactive screens, quotations, and artefacts.

holyroodmr@gmail.com  was set up in 2020 to deal with general enquiries, communication generated via the website, and third parties such as West Lindsey churches festival. These emails are initially looked at by the bulletin team and passed to Fr. David if appropriate.
