Confessions after Mass & by appointment

Mass time change at Caistor: The Vigil Mass at Caistor will be changing from its current time of 5:30pm to 5pm after the clocks change. So, Saturday 1st November (All Saints) will be at 5pm.
All Souls Day: Please note, there will be a 10am Mass at Market Rasen as it is All Souls’ Day.
Exploring Catholicism This week we will be looking at “The Incarnation”. You are very welcome to join us! The course is every Thursday at 7pm at the School Room (the Parish hall at Holy Rood). Tea and coffee will be available from 6:30pm. Each session will finish by 8:15pm at the latest.
Parish lunch – this Thursday 6th November: We will meet in the church car park at 12.30pm and walk up to the Aston Arms on the Market Square. Or you can meet us there if more convenient. Meal is scheduled for 1pm. If you are thinking of joining us can you let Mary Howes know before Tuesday please so we can book the table. We will need to let the Aston know how many are coming and if necessary pre-order. Tel no 01673 849554 or email mary-howes1@hotmail.co.uk. All welcome- new parishioners and friends especially.
First Aid kits: Two new First Aid kits and Accident Report books are available. One kit and book is in the Narthex; the other kit and book are in the schoolroom. Bottled water is also in the Narthex.
Schoolroom Hire: The amended Booking Forms and Amended T&Cs are now available. A copy of the T&Cs is on the schoolroom noticeboard. Please see Mary Q or Keith for more information.
The Reader, Flower, and Coffee rotas have now moved to the Rotas page on this website.
Parish E-Mailing List: We have set up a new parish E-mail list which allows those who join to be kept up-to date with information in the parish via E-mail. It is a versatile tool and will allow (in time) various groups within the parish to have their own sections. If you would like to join, please just send an E-mail with “Parish List” in the subject line to holyroodchurchmr@outlook.com (You can leave at any time).
Rosary: The Rosary is said before the 10am Mass at Holy Rood on Tuesdays, all are welcome to join in.
Exposition and Adoration (Confessions available) Thursdays 10:30am Holy Rood (after Mass)
Mass Intentions: If you want to have a Mass offered for a particular intention, we will soon have “Mass intention Envelopes” at the back of each Church. However, until they arrive just ask Fr David if you want a Mass said. The Diocese recommends a donation of £10 for a Mass intention.
November Remembrance List. We are nearing the month of November where we turn our minds to remember the departed and praying for our loved ones on their journey towards heaven. We have November Remembrance list envelopes available from this weekend, if you your deceased loved ones to be included in the Masses offered throughout November for the faithful departed simple take an envelope and insert the names of you departed loved ones and return the envelope (please include any donations in the envelopes also).
Christmas Coffee Morning. December 6th 10-12 Holy Rood Schoolroom. To make our special event more enjoyable for everyone, we need volunteers who have ideas for stall and games etc. Please see Fr David with your suggestions. We also desperately need items for the tombola: bottles, chocolates etc and prizes etc for the other stalls. Please be generous and drop them off at the presbytery.
Annual Parish Raffle: We are planning to once again have our annual parish raffle. We are looking for sponsors to donate the first three prizes of £100, £50 and £25. Please let Fr David know if you would be willing to donate. Any other prizes for the raffle would be greatly appreciated too (e.g. bottles, Chocolates, a Porsche etc)
Food Bank: Tinned & dried goods are always needed to help those families who are struggling at this time of year. If you would like any further information please have a chat with Pauline.
What‘s happening out and about?
All Young Adults are warmly invited to meet across the diocese in November for Requiem Masses celebrated in remembrance of those who have died. Please bring with you the names of anyone you wish to pray for this month which will be added to our Mass intentions. Arrivals from 6pm, Mass and social time finishing for 8pm. Thursday 13th at Saint Hugh of Lincoln Church, Lincoln; Mass at 6.30pm
Dominican Young Adults Study Day – Dragons, Beasts, & Visions: Understanding Biblical Apocalyptic – A day for students and young adults (20s & 30s) exploring the Apocalyptic literature in the Bible, at The Frassati Centre, Leicester LE1 6HW, from 10.00am-4.30pm on Saturday 15th November. Blessing of Graves: It is a pious and Holy tradition to have a priest bless graves around All Souls. If you have loved ones buried in cemeteries within the parish and you would like Fr David to come to bless their grave(s) during the month of November, please do not hesitate to ask.
Blackfriars Hall in Oxford is hosting a one-day course on Saturday 8th November from 9.30am until 4.30pm, entitled Hope for Health: Inspiration from Good Practice. There are still some places available for anyone who would like to attend; more details are on the poster at the back of church, or by emailing: richard.finn@english.op.org

Be Still and Know that I am God a three-days’ retreat led by Father Roger Dawson SJ, aiming to help participants find a greater attentiveness and disposition to God’s presence in their lives through a disciplining of the mind and awareness of the present moment. The retreat will be held between Friday 14th and Monday 17th November, at the Christian Heritage Centre, Lancashire. A Men’s Retreat to experience Saint Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises in a 5-day, shortened form. The retreat will be guided by the monastic community of Saint Joseph’s Abbey, Flavigny (France), founded with the charism of offering this version of the Exercises to men. The retreat is open to men in all states of life, who wish to seek God’s will through a deepened detachment from the world, and is being held at the Christian Heritage Centre, Lancashire, starting on either Wednesday 4th or Wednesday 11th February. holyroodmr@gmail.com was set up in 2020 to deal with general enquiries, communication generated via the website, and third parties such as West Lindsey churches festival. These emails are initially looked at by the bulletin team and passed to Fr. David if appropriate.
