First Holy Communion: Natalia age 9 and Nikola age 11 have been taking their First Holy Communion lessons for a while now, you may have seen then at Market Rasen taking up the offertory gifts during mass. Please remember them in your prayers as they will be making their first communion on Sunday 4th October during 11.30 Mass.
Christmas Fair Meeting Sun 11th October (after 11:30am Mass at Holy Rood in School room). Volunteers needed please.
Harvest Festival Service at Hainton On Sunday October 18th at 3pm we will be holding our annual Ecumenical Harvest Festival service at St Francis De Sales chapel at Hainton Hall. The service is a short Ecumenical service (not a Mass) of Thanksgiving for the harvest, followed by refreshments at Hainton Hall kindly hosted by the Heneage family. All are welcome.
First Aid kits: Two First Aid kits and Accident Report books are available. One kit and book is in the Narthex; the other kit and book are in the schoolroom. Bottled water is also available in the Narthex.
Schoolroom Hire: The amended Booking Forms and Amended T&Cs are now available. A copy of the T&Cs is on the schoolroom noticeboard. Please see Mary Q or Keith for more information.

Rosary: The Rosary is said before the 10am Mass at Holy Rood on Tuesdays, all are welcome to join in.
Exposition and Adoration (Confessions available) Thursdays 10:30am Holy Rood (after Mass)
Mass Intentions: If you want to have a Mass offered for a particular intention, we have “Mass intention Envelopes” at the back of each Church. The Diocese recommends a donation of £10 for a Mass intention.
Food Bank: Tinned & dried goods are always needed to help those families who are struggling at this time of year. If you would like any further information please have a chat with Pauline.
What’s happening elsewhere?
CAFOD’s Family Fast Day is this coming Friday, 2nd October. It is a day when we are invited to pray, eat simply and give generously. By giving to CAFOD this Harvest, we can put our faith into action and share God’s love with our neighbours overseas – we can help communities support children like Tayla in Zimbabwe to stay in school with better access to water, nourishing school meals and gardens where food can be grown, even during times of drought. Please collect a CAFOD envelope as you leave, so that you can Gift Aid your donation, or give through the CAFOD website. Thank you for your generosity.
Dominican Young Adults Study Day: Understanding the Emotions, on Saturday 10th October between 10.00am and 4.00pm, at the Frassati Centre, Wellington Street, Leicester LE1 6HW. What do our emotions have to do with holiness? Are our feelings something to control, overcome, or simply accept? Join the Dominican Sisters of Saint Joseph for a day exploring the Thomistic understanding of the passions; the emotions and movements of our human nature. The study day is open to any young adults (20s & 30s), including those looking to deepen their faith or new to the Catholic tradition. The day will include talks, workshops, prayer, fellowship, and discussion, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but booking is essential: https://tinylink.net/5JaIh
ADVENTure 2026, a weekend at The Briars, Crich, for young people in school years 10-13 as Advent begins, from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th November. The diocesan youth service opens the centre for prayer, honest conversation, Mass, reconciliation and an Advent party! Young people can come alone or with a friend (plenty do), and first-timers are especially welcome. The cost is £50, covering accommodation, meals and the whole weekend. Peter’s Pence Bishop Patrick has received a letter from the Secretariat for the Economy in Rome, signed by Maximino Caballero Ledo, thanking our Diocese for the contributions to the 2026 Peter’s Pence collection, which amounted to £7,451.02. The Holy Father very much appreciates the generosity of parishioners throughout the Diocese of Nottingham, whose donations will help to fund and support the charitable activities of the Holy See.

holyroodmr@gmail.com was set up in 2020 to deal with general enquiries, communication generated via the website, and third parties such as West Lindsey churches festival. These emails are initially looked at by the bulletin team and passed to Fr. David if appropriate.
