Bulletin 09 September

Welcome to this week’s bulletin. Let’s start with the Mass times…

100 Club Winner – September

100 club winner for September was no 26 Jackie Dymond Congratulations!!!

An invitation to Afternoon Tea…

You are invited to Afternoon Tea on Saturday 30th September in the school room from 2pm. Relax and enjoy the ambience while you are waited on hand and foot. It’s all going to be rather  delightful. Sit and chat with friends over a glass of Prosecco whilst enjoying exquisite cuisine made by our own special team.

As you revel in the witty repartee of your friends, you will be also be helping to save the schoolroom. Part of the schoolroom needs urgent repair before this winter.

The roof repair will cost approximately £3,000; the interior toilet area also requires renovation. This is a fundraising event to prevent the schoolroom from having to close through disrepair and hence a potential health risk. Closure will have an impact on the groups who use the schoolroom – forcing them to find alternative venues. Currently the schoolroom are the only toilets for parishioners to use while attending church.

Tickets are just £20 per person (glass of Prosecco included) , tickets will be limited due to the size of the school room, we will need final numbers by the 27th September.

If you cannot attend this fabulous event, then please consider making a donation to help keep the schoolroom open.

For more information please contact Mary Quint or Anne McIntyre.

Stow Minster

The Anglos Saxon Church of St. Mary 7th Century believed to have been the Cathedral of the old Diocese of Lindsey & often referred to as the Mother Church of Lincolnshire. I am delighted to say we have been granted permission to offer Holy Mass there on Wednesday the 27th September at 1030am. Be kind enough to place your name on the list if you wish to join me as they have graciously offered to give us a small tour and refreshments after Mass. This is an historic occasion after all.

ZUMBA GOLD Class

Zumba Gold classes will start on Monday 4th September at 11am in the schoolroom. There’s a sheet at the back of the church  for you to sign up. Classes are £5 per person.

If you wish to use the toilets in the Schoolroom before or during Holy Mass please see Keith or Pauline who will be in the Narthex. If you prefer to sit during Holy Mass rather than kneel or stand, then please sit. If you feel faint or would like some water Keith or Pauline will bring you  water to drink.

Cannon Ian

As many of you know Canon Ian will be retiring from SS: Peter & Paul: A Service of Retirement In thanksgiving for Ian’s ministry will be held on Sunday 24th September at 6pm at Caistor Parish Church. Followed by a buffet supper. We have been invited to attend & join the celebrations. Canon Ian went out of his way to help us during Covid offering the parish Church so that we could celebrate Holy Mass, please join me at the celebration to wish him well & a happy retirement.

Food Bank

Tinned and dried goods are always needed to help those struggling at this time especially during the winter months. Your support is much appreciated, goods can be placed in the basket at the back of the Church. See Pauline if you have any questions or need more information.

Thank you for all your help and support.

God Bless,

Fr. Robert
