Bulletin 5th Oct 2024

Hello again, and welcome back to this week’s bulletin. The Mass times are as follows:

Prayer For Peace

Pray for Peace: In order to invoke the intercession of Mary Most Holy for the gift of peace, the Holy Father will recite the holy rosary and make a heartfelt plea to the Virgin in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major this Sunday and asks as many as possible recite the Rosary that day. On Monday 7th of October the Holy Father asks everyone to participate in a day of prayer & fasting for peace in the world.

Accordingly, Bishop Patrick, together with all the Bishops across England and Wales, are asking parishes to do all they can to both inform parishioners of this message and request from the Holy Father, and to help as many as possible to participate in this action, calling for the gift of peace wherever there is conflict in our world.

Macbeth

The Lindsey Rural Players are putting on Macbeth at the Broadbent Theatre Wickenby in November.

Performances dates and times are as follows:

Friday 1st November 7.30pm

Saturday 2nd November  7.30pm

Friday 8th November 7.30pm

Saturday 9th November 2.30pm & 7.30pm

“Be bloody, bold and resolute, laugh to scorn the power of man for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth” So say the three witches to Macbeth who, with ‘predictions’ like these, fool Macbeth and of course, bring nothing but harm both to him and to Scotland. Their actions lead to the deaths of many, including Macbeth and his wife, and a legacy of chaos and betrayal.

In this specially abridged version by Ruth Hewitt of Shakespeare’s classic play, accompanied by live music and special effects, you will feel the tension, fear and disbelief as Macbeth’s murderous behaviour escalates.

Come along to experience a truly thought-provoking and sinister theatrical performance at The Broadbent Theatre this November. Several of our parishioners are involved in the production. Click here for more details.

Some people have already expressed an interest in attending the Friday 8th November 7.30pm performance.

Christmas Coffee Morning

The Christmas Coffee Morning: Will take place Dec 16th in the schoolroom. We need donations of bottles, chocolates etc for the Tombola & nearer the date cakes for the cake stall. Kevin is looking for ideas for stalls & volunteers to run them on the day. Please let me or Kevin know of any suggestions you have for this. A list for volunteers will be placed in the Church nearer the time.

God Bless,

Fr. Robert
