Parish E-Mailing List: We have set up a new parish E-mail list which allows those who join to be kept up-to date with information in the parish via E-mail. It is a versatile tool and will allow (in time) various groups within the parish to have their own sections. Second Collection: . On the 15th of June we will also hold a second collection for the Day for Life Fund. Every year, the fund allocates over £200,000 in grants, to organisations that which promote the Christian respect for life from conception to natural death, in various ways. This has made a significant impact in local communities of England and Wales.

What‘s happening out and about?

A Jubilee of Hope Pilgrimage will be held at Mount Saint Bernard Abbey on Sunday 31st August, starting with Mass at 2pm, together with a family picnic, Marian Procession, and Adoration.  For more details email jnoakes@englishmartyrs.org

Jesus Youth UK is organising a weekend retreat designed especially for young married couples in the first seven years of their marriage.  Amor Familia offers an opportunity to grow together in faith, love, and community.  It will be held at The Briars, Crich, between Friday 24th and Sunday 26th October, with nursery services will be available for children over 2 years of age (under 2s can stay with their parents).  More details are at: https://forms.jesusyouth.co.uk/r/mO9y9g

Join Bishop Patrick and families from across our Diocese for our Jubilee of Families on Saturday 21st June. The celebrations will begin at Our Lady of Lourdes, Derby, DE3 9GE, at 12 noon with the celebration of Mass, followed by a Blessed Sacrament procession, a jubilee family blessing, Hog Roast and activities and games for children organised by NDCYS.  Tickets are free but need to be booked: www.dioceseofnottingham.uk/events/familyjubilee

The Pilgrimage of Hope is a national walking pilgrimage for England and Wales with four Ways converging at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham, on Saturday 13th September; it is an initiative of the Hearts in Search of God project. The Ways start at the Catholic cathedrals in Cardiff, Leeds, Norwich and Westminster and will bless our nations with a Sign of the Cross. A small group of perpetual pilgrims will walk the full distance of each Way, with up to 20 day pilgrims joining for day stages. Unveiled Faces: Healing and Transformation with the Saints; a Weekend Retreat between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th June led by Father Emmanuel Mansford, CFR at the Christian Heritage Centre, contemplating the healing and transformational work of grace in the ordinary and imperfect lives of the saints.  In the light of their example, the retreat will offer an opportunity to reflect on and to seek healing for the wounds in our own lives.  To book, visit: https://christianheritagecentre.com/events/unveiled-faces/ 

The Celebrate Festival – Witnesses to Hope is being held this summer at Worth School, in the beautiful West Sussex countryside.  It’s going to be a fun, family and faith-filled event with a Festival Big Top!  There will be eight children’s and youth groups for all ages from babies in the creche to the Joel’s Bar youth (16-22 years).  Held between Saturday 16th and Wednesday 20th August, amazing speakers will include Father Roberto Pasolini, the Papal Preacher!; Father Columba Jordan CFR; Rachel Turner; and more.  For details and booking, visit: www.celebratetrust.org/festival

Nottingham Cathedral is looking for a freelance consultant to lead the Engagement and Outreach programme for its major National Lottery Heritage Fund supported Restoring Pugin Project.  The project lasts from now until March 2027.  The consultant should have a successful track record of engaging diverse audiences and building partnerships within a heritage context to deliver an ambitious activity plan; the postholder will be supported by a professional team, and will manage paid freelancers and volunteers.  The job description and activity plan are on the Cathedral website: www.nottinghamcathedral.org.uk

What is God? Philosophical, Christian and Islamic Approaches, at the Christian Heritage Centre, between Friday 22nd and Monday 25th August.  This annual course in partnership with CEPHAS will look at the nature and knowledge of God from a pre-religious, philosophical understanding, before comparing the Islamic concept of God with the Christian, leaning on Saint Thomas Aquinas’ elaboration of the Trinity and the Incarnation.  For more information and to book: https://christianheritagecentre.com/events/what-is-god/

The Health Team who support the Nottingham Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage is in need of some additional experienced team members for this year’s pilgrimage.  If you, or someone you know, is a currently Registered Nurses or trained and experienced Care Worker, who may be interested and can commit to being available for this year’s Jubilee Pilgrimage between Monday 14th and Friday 18th July, as well as for a couple of training days on Sunday 15th and Saturday 28th June, please contact Deacon David Knight (david@sthughslincoln.org.uk) for more details.
